Introduction
Khan's Heart is an amazing mid game alchemy crystal and has 3 different forms
- Khan's Heart can be obtained by defeating a boss together with your other guild members
- You can create Khan's Heart as an offensive, defensive or life alchemy stone crystal
- A family quest was added to make obtaining Khan's Heart a lot easier without relying on RNG
- Khan's Heart offers the most DP of any alchemy stone making it the best in slot for DP
The family quests for obtaining Khan's Heart can only be completed once per family
Khan's Heart's Different Forms
As mentioned, Khan's Heart has an offensive, defensive or life alchemy stone option, this choice is made when you craft the item
Khan's Heart: Destruction is a fantastic option before you manage to get a Vell's Heart, it'll be much cheaper and the 2AP will likely still let you hit brackets.
Like Vell's Heart this can also be upgraded to Exalted Khan's Heart: Destruction which will give you 2 AP and 4 DP, but this is a pretty big investment.
I'd only really recommend upgrading it if you're really struggling to get your hands on a Vell's Heart, otherwise just having the 2 AP is a really good mid game item that can be sold later.
Khan's Heart: Protection is technically the new best sheet DP alchemy stone, giving 2 DP, but it's buff effects aren't that great.
Like the AP option, Khan's Heart: Protection can be upgraded to an Exalted Khan's Heart: Protection that will give you 6 DP in total. However I'd recommend Perilla's Star over this option personally.
While the Khan's Heart: Protection gives more sheet DP and great dmg. Reduction and evasion, much more than Perilla's Star, the buff isn't amazing and its expensive to make.
The only time I could see this being a niche pick is if you already have an upgraded Vell's Heart and you're making a secondary DP build.
Khan's Heart: Life is a really good option if you're into your life skills because it's the only alchemy stone that provides a constant Life skill mastery stat increase.
The +25 All Life Skill Mastery isn't part of the buff activated when using the alchemy stone (U) and is instead an item effect. It's less easily replaced than the other two options if you like life skilling.
With the quests being one per family, it might seem like an important decision, but you can actually list the Khan's Hearts on the marketplace if you don't find much use from your choice.
The current values on the marketplace might even help you make a decision on which option to pick.
Crafting Your Khan's Heart
With the addition of the once per family quests, you can farm Khan in order to receive an item called Khan's Dim Magic.
This item isn't the only requirement and making a Khan's Heart can still cost around 1b to craft.
Here is the list of items that you'll need to craft a Khan's Heart of your choice:
|
|
|
[RNG Recipe] Destruction Spirit Stone x1 |
[RNG Recipe] Guardian Spirit Stone x1 Alchemy Stone Shard x400 |
[RNG Recipe] Life Spirit Stone x1 Alchemy Stone Shard x400 |
The alchemy stone items determine which Khan's Heart you craft, make sure you get the right ones!
Grabbing the Alchemy Stone Shards isn't too expensive, you can usually get them from the Central Marketplace pretty easily.
If you choose to purchase the Magical Shards as well, then you'll add on another few hundred million to the price of crafting through buying Sealed Black Magic Crystals.
Even with these costs though, all three of the Khan's Heart options are still really profitable.
Obtaining Khan's Dim Magic
This is the item that was added as a quest reward and can only be obtained through the once per family questline.
Quest | Objective | Reward |
[Crossroad] [Difficulty 0 to 3] Otterly-concerned Vellonia Merchants I (Once per Family) |
Defeat Khan of the appropriate difficulty | |
[Crossroad] [Difficulty 0 to 3] Otterly-concerned Vellonia Merchants II (Once per Family) |
Defeat Khan of the appropriate difficulty | Khan's Dim Magic |
[Crossroad] [Difficulty 0 to 3] Otterly-concerned Vellonia Merchants III (Once per Family) |
Defeat Khan of the appropriate difficulty | Khan's Dim Magic |
Selecting which quest to take will be decided based on which difficulty your guild will be fighting. The difficulty is based on the size of your guild.
While Khan can only be summoned once per week by one guild, they reset on Monday at 00:00 UTC. You can also leave a guild and join another one on a 24 hour cooldown.
This means you could speed up grabbing the heart if you really wanted to or were able to find guilds doing Khan, you can also complete it with another guild as a War Hero.
How to Summon Khan
As Khan is a weekly guild boss, to summon it you need to complete daily guild missions with your guild in order to be rewarded with summon scroll pieces.
Khan scroll pieces come from different guild missions, usually bartering and gathering (fishing) requests, and from sea monster subjugation requests as well.
Once you have all the necessary summon scroll pieces you'll be able to see that Khan can be summoned.
This will also let you navigate to the location and enter the instance in order to fight Khan, the fight will take place at Oquilla's Eye so you'll need a boat to get there.
You can't be on a Node, Conquest, or Arsha server when you create and access the instance.
If you have forced PvP active if you've recently hit or defeated another Adventurer with forced PvP active you can't enter either.
If you're in a duel or mounted, if your character is not idle, or if you're not in a “normal” zone such as the Elvia Realm.
The fight against Khan will use cannons to inflict damage to it, make sure that regardless of your role you hit Khan at least once with a cannon or you won't get drops or complete your quest.
The cannons used to defeat Khan must be obtained from the guild store by talking to a Guild Manager NPC.
You'll need to buy the [Guild] Monsterbane Cannon Assembly Kit and [Guild] Monsterbane Cannonballs, make sure to grab plenty as it can be a pretty long fight.
The cannons only last for 30 minutes and will then be destroyed, any cannonballs inside will also be deleted.
This doesn't matter too much as Khan despawns after 30 minutes if not defeated anyway and is the only guild boss to despawn in this way.
There also monsters around the island that will heal Khan if left unchecked, that you'll have to defeat using regular gear, generally 261+ AP with Kutum is recommended.
Destroying the black crystals will also defeat the monsters in the nearby area and drop a special type of cannon ball called a Black Crystal Cannonball that will help to do extra damage to Khan.
Once you've fought and defeated Khan 3 times and completed the family questline, you'll be able to craft a Khan's Heart without relying on RNG for a Khan's Concentrated Magic to drop.
