Introduction
Lafi Bedmountain's Upgraded Compass reveals your position on the map while in the Ocean and Desert!
- The Upgraded Compass is one of the rarest items in the game, it can be an incredibly long grind
- You'll need to obtain 3 different compass pieces from grinding areas in Valencia
- You'll also need 3 different Gems which are easy to obtain and usually available on the marketplace
- The compass can also be used as a summon by teleporting your party members to your location
The grind can take over hundreds of hours and should be considered a completionist item.
Lafi Bedmountain's Upgraded Compass Restrictions
Since this is such a long grind, it's important to know some of the limitations the item has in order to know if the item is really worth it for you, although for some people, just being a rare item is reason enough.
If you find yourself sailing a lot or visiting the desert often or like the idea of teleporting party members to you, the compass is definitely a nice quality of life to have.
Here are the limits placed that Lafi Bedmountain's Upgraded Compass has:
- The compass only works for a standard party, it doesn't work while in platoons
- The compass also can't be used during a Node or Seige war due to obvious advantages
- It also won't work while you're in jail or while you're in Red Battlefield
- Party members have to be in the same channel and the invite remains active for 10 minutes
- If the party member is currently mounted the mount will be teleported as well
- If you or a party member has trade items you can't teleport them
Obtaining the Upgraded Compass Pieces
When grinding for the Upgraded Compass pieces, the item that will drop is a Upgraded Compass Parts which must be appraised, you'll then find out which compass piece you have.
There's two grind zones that give different pieces, but when appraising you can get duplicates, which is one of the things that makes the grind take so long.

Aakman and Hystria Portals
To enter Aakman Temple, you'll have to search the Valencia Desert for portals. These portals can lead you to either Aakman or Hystria.
Aakman Temple
Aakman Temple has always been a really good mid game grind spot, mobs can be knocked down for quicker kill speed and the zone only requires 250 AP and 300 DP. It's now also a great place to burn Agris Fever.
At the time of writing these are the drops and silver per hour you can expect using only a yellow loot scroll and a Blessing of Kamasylve.
If you want to check out the current drop information you can check its grind tracker entry here!
Hystria Ruins
Hystria Ruins is similar to Aakman, it's really decent money per hour and while the mobs can't be knocked down they're really susceptible to back attacks.
The requirements are the same at 250 AP and 300 DP and it's another great place to burn Agris Fever.
At the time of writing these are the drops and silver per hour you can expect using only a yellow loot scroll and a Blessing of Kamasylve.

Kratuga during the event will drop pieces that are usually found in both Aakman and Hystria so it can be a good option but it might end up giving you duplicates.
To find Kratuga, you'll need to head over to Hasrah Ancient Ruins, head deep inside the cave and look for the Sealed Door.
You'll need a Black Spirit's Claw Piece in order to enter, you can usually grab them from the marketplace with no issue.
Once you find the Sealed Door by heading deeper into the cave, you'll be able to hand over the claw piece to teleport into Kratuga.
To exit you can use Esc - Escape to be moved to the exit point of Kratuga making it easy to navigate out again.
It's another mid game zone needing 250 AP and 300 DP with really good money for hour but it has received changes to it's Marni zone which may change the money per hour.
At the time of writing these are the drops and silver per hour you can expect using only a yellow loot scroll and a Blessing of Kamasylve.

Processing, or purchase from the Central Market. | ||
If you do need to process the gems for whatever reason, you'll need the Shaking: Skilled knowledge, which requires Processing Artisan 1.
The recipe for the gems is 3 x Gem Polisher and 7 x Resplendent gem. These can be grabbed off the Marketplace easily, too.
For the Resplendent gem, you would choose the gem you needed, for example you'd need 7 x Resplendent Rubys.
You shouldn't have any difficulty just buying the crafted gems outright though, so don't worry too much about it.
Identifying Upgraded Compass Pieces
Like mentioned previously, when a Upgraded Compass piece drops, no matter what location you're grinding in, it will be dropped as a Upgraded Compass Parts which needs to be identified.
To identify the compass pieces, you will have to head to Ancient Fissure which you can find pretty close to Heidel.
Once you're there, you can talk to the NPC Ain Greid who will let you exchange the parts for the identified versions.
