Nesser's Gear

Introduction

Nesser's gear is an easy to obtain gear set that can be rented for CP.
  • The stats provided by Nesser's gear are nearly equivalent to TET boss gear
  • Nesser gear pieces have bonus stats, like +10% Critical Hit Damage on the Off-hand weapon
  • Item effects from Nesser's gear don't apply if you hit negative karma
  • The Nesser's gear set also works well as a back up after failing enhancing on other gear pieces

Nesser's Gear is also useable by Seasonal Characters which can be useful before getting Tuvala gear

Obtaining Nesser's Gear

Nesser's gear is actually really simple to obtain, there's very few requirements. The biggest drawback to this set is its CP (Contribution Points) cost to rent.

Each gear piece will cost 50 CP which means 350 CP for the full set of Nesser gear.

This is a costy investment, especially if you're interested in life skilling or maintaining node workers.

However, only renting one piece at a time for only 50 CP is a lot more viable and getting hold of Nesser's Gear is actually really easy.

The only requirement for renting Nesser's Gear is to have completed the quest Edana's Descendant from the Valencia I main quest line.

It's the second last quest, so its basically completing Valencia I as a requirement. But if you've already completed the Valencia I main quest line you're good to go.

To rent the gear, just head to Valencia Castle and speak to NPC Sahazad Nesser, here's his location:

With the release of the Magnus Abyssal Wells its also easier to go to and from Valencia, making renting this gear a little more convenient.

If you want to return Nesser's Gear, you can take the items back to Sahazad Nesser or two other NPCs.

It can be returned to Atui Balacs in Sand Grain Bazaar at the location below:

The other NPC it can be returned to is Shakatu in Shakatu, here's the location:

Nesser Gear Stats & Comparisons

As mentioned, Nesser gear is not quite at TET level, however it does come with some unique bonuses from item effects.

One of the biggest drawbacks to Nesser gear was that it didn't have crystal slots. With the introduction of Crystal Presets, this no longer applies.

The most competitive option and the one most likely worth the 50CP cost, is the Nesser Sub Weapon.

It's almost the equivalent of a TET Kutum Sub Weapon and comes with the benefit of +10% Critical Hit Damage, with two crystal slots, this is a nice item effect bonus.

While losing the 2% Critical Hit Damage from the Kzarka Main Weapon, the Nesser Main Weapon adds a hidden 5 AP to try and close the gap.

This isn't as helpful as the sheet AP provided by the TET Kzarka Main Weapon but its a decent item effect bonus.

The comparison between the two awakening weapons is simple enough, the Nesser Awakening Weapon is a decent replacement.

The Helmet isn't too worth it unless you're lacking another option, its basically a worse Giath's Helmet and one of the worse options for the 50 CP cost.

Having built in +2 Critical Hit Level could save you a crystal slot and since the gloves having competitive accuracy to Bheg's Gloves they're a good option.

The hidden +5 AP was removed from the gloves as of 20/12/2023.

Like the gloves, the item effects on the boots are pretty nice here. its basically a free Black Magic Crystal - Hysteria

However, since they're evasion its unlikely the Nesser Shoes should ever be picked, as the entry point to building for evasion requires a far higher gear score in general to be effective.

The armor is another decent piece, while it wouldn't replace a Dim Tree Spirit's Armor, it could be a decent stand in if you've failed a PEN attempt.

It provides an extra 100 Max HP and +20 Weight limit in exchange for a few DP and hidden bonuses. All in all, not too bad by comparison.

While the Nesser Gear may not be for everyone, it's an interesting set of gear available in Black Desert that costs CP instead of any silver.

It's most likely use is for replacing blown up gear or giving Season characters some starting gear. What do you think, is the Nesser Gear worth it, or is the 50 CP per piece too expensive?
