BDO Basics - Caphras Stones

Introduction

This is a Caphras Stone guide intended for newer players learning about gear progression
  • Caphras Stones are one of the most important items in the game for gear and stat progression
  • They're used to upgrade your gear, obtaining additional stats without having to enhance
  • With the amount of Caphras Stones you'll need, its generally recommend to stockpile them
  • Caphras Stones are also used to create gear and enhancement upgrading materials for end game

Caphras Stones should be reserved for PEN gear for efficiency due to the amount you'll need.

Using Caphras Stones

Caphras Stones can be used to enhance your gear right from your inventory, just right click on the icon and you'll bring up the upgrading UI.

There's really nothing complicated about this process, you throw in a piece of gear and it will tell you the required Caphras amount to reach the next level.

Here's a TET Nouver for example on how the UI looks with an item, you can also use our Caphras Calculator to see how many stones you'll need to reach a certain level.

Most people when upgrading their PEN gear will opt to increase all of their armor to Caphras level 4 or C4 for short.

This is because these early levels all provide one stat per one level, meaning you can increase your DP for a relatively cheap cost.

Here is base DR PEN gear, at 310 DP with no completed journals as an example:

By using Caphras Stones you increase your actual sheet DP this means you can use Caphras Stones to reach higher gear brackets.

If you don't know what gear brackets are, in short, you're rewarded for reaching certain gear milestones with additional hidden stats.

You can see a full list of brackets and their bonuses using our Bracket calculator tool by clicking here

Here is the same example gear at Caphras Level 4 (C4) so you can see the difference:

In this way you can jump up DP brackets pretty easily for a low cost, which brings us on to the next usage of Caphras Stones. Caphras also give a nice amount of Max hp.

If you're interested in keeping track of your own gear like this, you can use our Gear Planner.

Fallen God's Equipment

There is a set of gear that is above standard boss gear. To craft it your armor pieces are required to be Caphras Level 10 or C10.

Most people go for Fallen God's Armor first, enhancing their chest piece up to Caphras level 10 after hitting level 4 on all armor pieces. You can find out more about Fallen God's Armor here:

There's also the other armor pieces, which we also have guides for under our Gear Upgrade section

Caphras for Enhancing Materials

The Fallen God armor pieces previously mentioned have their own enhancements available, once crafted they can go from PRI to PEN all over again.

Caphras Stones are needed for this part, too. The stones required to upgrade these armor pieces are called Flawless Chaotic Black Stones and can only be crafted, not purchased.

Each stone requires 10 Caphras Stones which gives the game another use to Caphras Stones

With how difficult these end game pieces are to enhance, it's always a good idea to keep your Caphras.
Although the enhancement stones are crafted with Caphras, the Fallen god gear can't be upgraded with Caphras Stones like regular boss gear.

Obtaining Caphras Stones

Now that you know what they do, let's talk about how you get them. Caphras Stones are thankfully pretty easy to come across without doing anything special.

They're given as loot in pretty much all relevant grind spots, as you can see from the Monster Zone Info that can be accessed from the Esc menu.

This means you'll always be gaining them if you're grinding, but if you happen to enjoy life skills, they also show up as drops when gathering.

Crafting Caphras Stones

Caphras Stones can also be crafted by using Ancient Spirit Dust which also shows up in both grinding and gathering.

5 of the Ancient Spirit Dust can be combined with Black Stone (Weapon)s to craft individual stones using Simple Alchemy (L).

To mass produce caphras, you'll also need to include Black Stone Powder which can be obtained by Grinding (L) BBlack Stone (Weapon

You can see the Caphras Stone crafting method at anytime by looking at the item's tooltip.

Black Spirit's Adventure

Caphras Stones or Ancient Spirit Dust tend to show up in a good amount of the reward boxes and bundles giving out through events.

They can also be obtained on the Special Board of the Black Spirits Adventure, which you can access from the Esc menu.

You'll gain Caphras bundles of 5 for completing a round as well as gaining any that you land on and the regular completion boxes, Black Spirit's Adventure Box can give Ancient Spirit Dust

After every 10 rounds after 100, you'll also obtain a Black Spirit's Special Selection Box I which contains Caphras bundles an option.

After every 50 rounds after 100, you'll get a Black Spirit's Special Selection Box II which contains a better Caphras bundle option too.

Dark Rifts

Gaining Ancient Spirit Dust is one of the better uses of Dark Rifts, if you like doing boss content then you'll be able to work towards crafting caphras by finishing your Rifts.

Some of the bosses don't have accessory boxes and focus on giving more dust instead, like Steel Nux in the image below:

While not as efficient as just grinding or life skilling, it is a different option and you'll be able to grab the other rewards from the Dark Rifts as well.

Central Marketplace

While most people will always be needing Caphras, they sell for a good amount and the market usually always has them available, though this might vary by region.

It can be easy to blow through silver on Caphras Stones though and you'll naturally accumulate them anyway if you're patient, so it's not always a good idea to just outright buy them.

If you have the enhancing materials ready to make a Fallen God armor piece, then paying for C9 - C10 can be worth it for faster progression.

Extracting Caphras Stones

When enhancing TET to PEN, if you are successful only 10% of the Caphras Stones will be transferred to the PEN piece of gear.

This is why its generally recommended to wait until you hit PEN gear before bothering with Caphras. You can extract caphras from items, though.

You will only get 95% of the item's Caphras Stones back from this and each extracted stone costs 100k.

To Extract Caphras, head to a Blacksmith NPC and click Extract - Extract Caphras Stones.

This will let you pull out the Caphras stones from the piece of equipment, occassionally there will also be Caphras extraction events that make it a more viable option.
