New class "Scholar"

Scholar is a new class announced for release on December 20th 2023, she'll also be available on Global Labs on December 17th 2023.
Scholar is an alchemist who will use two hammers for her pre-kit along with the power of gravity!
She has the unique feature of being immune to Fall damage because of her control of gravity and physics, the class will also feature height based damage scaling.

Scholar is a little different to most classes, she will be an Ascension class similar to Archer. This means she starts out with both pre-awakened and her awakened weapon.

Her awakened weapon fuses her two hammers together to form a 2 handed Sledgehammer, she attacks enemies by transmuting any metal into gold.
A new Season Ticket will also be given out to all players so that you can make a Seasonal Scholar
Land of the Morning Light: Seoul
The next region expansion will be a Part 2 to the Land of the Morning Light area, this region will obviously continue the same heavily Korean inspired theme!
There will be no grind spots in the Land of the Morning Light 2, following the same style of content as Part 1.

Like with Part 1, there will be unique Black Shrine bosses, this time however, they'll be made for guilds to fight. The bosses will be created to be fought as a group and will be based off folklore.

Some of the ideas mentioned is using historical styled Korean crossbows that will act as your weapons instead of using your own gear.
These bosses will be easier than the current solo Black Shrine bosses to make them accessible for guilds to take down.
Fallen God Styled weapons were also announced though little was shown in terms of a preview.
These new weapons are said to be a higher tier than the Blackstar weapons, so may end up becoming the new best in slot weapons.
New Male Sword Class

Scholar wasn't the only class to be announced, this new male class that uses a sword and smoking pipe user that will likely come with the Land of the Morning Light: Seoul update.
Free Tier 9 Dream Horse

The free Dream horses are back, just like last time you'll be able to pick a Dream horse you'd like or have the choice of more Mythical Censers .

Due to how many people have Dream horses now, new adventurers will also be given a Dream horse when starting out as a catch up mechanic.
Serendia Revamp and Quest Changes

The will be streamlining the Serendia questlines and will be adding voice acting and additional cutscenes that they hope will make the story more enjoyable.
The cutscenes added will share a similar style to those seen in the Ulukita region, with drawn out artwork serving as the cutscene style.

A new quest search function will be added to allow you to search for quests, this will help you find rewards or quest objectives in order to locate it more easily.
The Jetina PEN quest line is also apparently being looked at for a more streamlined process for both the boss gear and Jetina accessory questlines.

Pearl Abyss are also adding a new Jetina PEN Accessory UI window to help you track your progress due to all of the different materials used.

They will also be allowing players to complete the Jetina PEN accessory questline a second time.
Free TET Blackstar Weapon
New players who graduate from the Season server for the first time will be given a free TET Blackstar weapon, this is because it was usually a recommended upgrade path.
This weapon can't be added to the marketplace but can be enhanced to PEN, though even at PEN it cannot be sold.

The free TET Blackstar also cannot be traded but that generally goes without saying as it's a standard limitation.
Travelling Quality of Life
To make things easier, you can now teleport directly to any major city as long as you have already completed the Magnus quest line.
This is to streamline fast travelling. This will reduce the amount of Magnus cutscenes you have to watch and will give you a new map to use for teleporting.
As you can see from the image below, Ulukita will also be added to the teleport options for the Magnus.

The Black Shrine bosses will also be able to be teleported to and once you're done with the boss you'll be returned to your original location.
A similar teleportation will be added for Atoraxxion which will allow you to teleport from anywhere to the dungeon and then return to your original location prior to teleporting.

The Valencia Desert and Ocean will also be receiving some changes to make them easier to travel across.
They will now allow you to ping and autopath across them as long as you have a compass or an upgraded compass. There will also be trade good markers in the Margoria's Star region added as well.
Now both Aakman and Hystria will have designated entrances and the portal quest will be removed so that they may be discerned without the need to complete a quest.

Item Overhaul, Life Skills and UI Changes
Pearl abyss have been working on consolidating items together to reduce the amount of item bloat in the game.
They've taken materials that are similar and have unified them, the most basic example being Black Stone (Weapon) and Black Stone (Armor) will now be converted to just Black Stones.

The picture above shows enhancing materials and seasonal gear categories and how the items can be overwhelming for new players.

By unifying the items, you can see even from just this image how many items can be removed and consolidated to make things more streamlined.
The same will also apply to Life skilling materials, making things take up less inventory space and streamline the item usage.

The picture above shows the different blood types that can be obtained currently and the image below shows how they will be consolidated.

As you can see, just from changes on this one item type, a lot of items can be removed to reduce item bloat within the game.

Now seeds will also be consolidated into one type for farming, but you will be able to gather different tiers of produce.
Seeds will also stack in your inventory to greatly reduce the amount of inventory space they take up.

The same can also be said for weak magic crystals and some elixirs. Elixirs will now work on party members as standard, removing the party varient from the game.

Because of how many events have taken place, the game also has many different seals and turn in reward seals. These are being converted into a permanent currency.

This currency will have it's own UI that will allow you to spend them for reward items and can be accessed at any time.
There will also be the removal of left over quest items and any that are not removed will be able to be sold to NPCs to remove them taking up from inventory space.
Some weaker life skill items will also be removed as they no longer see use within the game, they will be converted into Magical tools.

They are also looking to merge Life Skill levels on a Family Basis to be shared across characters.
They are also planning to add further levels to Life skills, going past the current Guru 50 for more progression.
Pearl Abyss will be removing General Trading for the foreseeable future while working on several issues it causes within the game.
However, processed trade crates will still be availble to players and will not be removed.

Some materials like Ancient Relics will be now stackable and Pearl Abyss are adding a unique inventory that allows you to combine items together.
This will simplify items that must be combined using the inventory puzzle system and will be able to be used while moving, this is to reduce inventory space consumption.
PvE Updates
Pearl Abyss are planning to buff the new Ulukita spots as part of a grind spot rework. They are planning to make the game balanced around gear score.
The higher the gear spot requirements, the higher silver amount you can expect to earn from the location. Things like Monster AP soft caps and AP caps are also being looked at too.

Pearl Abyss has data that shows Dehkia Thornwood is currently the best silver per hour and Ulukita and Gyfin underground will be buffed to catch up.
Tungrad Ruins will be given more mechanics to make it the hardest spot in the game, other spots may also receive extra mechanics.
New Dehkia Monster Zones will also be added for a few different Valencia grinding spots, the ones currently mentioned are Pila Ku, Roud, Sulfur Mine, Aakman and Hystria.
Black Shrine Calamity 8-10

They are also looking to add Black Shrine Calamity 8, 9 and 10 which will work differently than levels 1 to 7. These levels of Calamity will use your own gear.
You will not be able to damage the boss unless you have the required AP amount.
Calamity 8 will be 300 AP, Calamity 9 will be 310 AP and Calamity 10 will be 320 AP
The rewards for these high levels of challenge will be Deboreka accessories to make the content worth completing.
There will also be unique challenge modes for the bosses, like fighting with no armor, that will unlock things like special titles and other permanent rewards.
Altar of Blood Revamp

Altar of Blood will be receiving a complete revamp, this will be a wave defence mode still and will be group content.
This will still work as a tower defence but there will be more bosses, more mechanics with different difficulty modes.
Easy mode will be 250 AP, Medium mode will be 280 AP and Hard mode will be 310 AP
Rewards will be specific to each stage, in the hardest modes you'll have a chance to drop Deboreka accessories.
Even if you fail the harder challenge modes, your rewards will still be better than what is available at the previous difficulty level.
Deboreka accessories will be changed in general and will now drop as whole accessories instead of having to be crafted from dropped items and the drop rate will be increased.
Preset UI
Because the game offers different content that allows for different presets to be more optimal, Pearl Abyss are reworking the preset UI to make switching much smoother.
This All-in-one UI will allow you to easily switch between presets depending on what content you are doing.

Cron Enhancement Buff
Pearl Abyss mentioned that they wished for the Fail Stack system to feel like a bonus, something that would help you towards your next attempt and that this wasn't the case with Cron Stones.
To combat this, they've added a buff to Cron Stone enhancing that will now provide +1 Fail stack each time you fail an upgrade attempt.

They mentioned that the process of adding additional bonuses to Cron Stone enhancing was something that must be done carefully, so for now the bonus will be a +1.
Console Next Gen

The next gen update will be coming for console players in Summer 2024, to apologize for the wait, you will be given a free Vell's Heart.
Guild Updates and Changes
The guild chat will be improved and different missions will be added, guild bosses will have scrolls removed and will just be a weekly limit.
The different guild bosses will be improved to be more fun and Khan will receive its own unique command to gather to reduce travelling difficulties.

Extra benefits for guilds will be added too, like even better guild buffs, rentable PEN equipement and increased max guild wages from 5 daily million silver to 100 million daily silver.
Brand new Guild titles will be able to be given to guild members, this will depend on what type of guild players you have.
For example, players who do a lot of life skills will be able to be given specific Life skilling titles.
Other quality of life features and engagement options like new ways to send out guild alerts, which allow members who login to receive the alert when logging in.
Guilds will also allow players to use hashtags in order to promote their guilds and help them be more visible to other players.
Guild Manor

A new system is being added that will allow one players manor to become the Guild Manor, this will allow guild members to teleport to that specific players manor.
This will allow for things like co-operative life skills like cooking and alchemy, letting you use the tools at the same time.
PvP Updates and Changes
After just mentioning guilds, this a good time to mention the new planned PvP content called the Guild League System.

This is a 15 vs 15 ranked PvP mode that will allow guilds to use their own gear to fight in a ranked style setting. The system will have team and individual performance scores.
Currently they're planning to also add participation rewards, the current amount is likely to be 200 million silver for each participating member.
Node Wars
Pearl Abyss are continuing to make Node War changes to attempt to stop them from becoming stale and outdated.

They are hoping to work on the Region War system, where you will be able to apply to a region you'd like to fight at and then Nodes will be then distributed depending on partcipants.
Guilds will then be issued certain nodes, the time limit for these Node Wars will be 1 hour but each Node will have different times.
Depending on which Node you win, you will receive rewards like increased drop rate or node materials.
Guilds that control the Node Fort will win and exit the region war, guilds that do not win can then go to different Nodes in the region to fight again.
Castle Seige
They're adding new systems for defenders, letting the defensive gates scale it's HP to provide better defence according to how many attackers there are.
The most exciting change to this is the newly announced Guild Dragon Mount, the mount is apparently incredibly powerful and hopes to be an incentive for people to want to own castles.

You'll also be able to ask guilds that own Nodes in your Castle's region for help in defending the castle and be able to set a tax rate in the castle region area.
