Introduction
As discussed in the Heidel Ball 2025, the Combat System has received a new, massive overhaul!
- Resistances have been removed in PvP and so has mouse movement in combat to avoid desyncing
- Classes have received changes to make them more uniform, with things like class AP being unified
- Class buffs that provide AP or resistances, DP debuffs and other class buffs have been changed
- Grapples have been changed and items that provided resistances have been changed or removed
Initial Combat Changes
The first thing to mention is that there's been adjustments to each class, their AP increase stats, DP decrease stats and Special Attack Damage increase stats have all been adjusted. Mouse movement no longer works in combat, too.
Because of these changes, all characters' skills, Skill add-ons and skill presets have been reset with the update, to help with this they've gave out a Secret Book of Old Moon (30 days) to make this a smoother process for players.

You can find the free book in your mail which will help with resetting skills or remaking presets for 30 days, make sure you do this for all of your characters if you play multiple like tagged classes.
Special Attack Damage Effects From Skills
They've made a change so that Special Attack damage from skills and Skill Add-ons now stack together. You can see your current damage multipliers in the "My Stats" page in your inventory.
Individual Special Attack damage effects (such as Back Attack Damage and Critical Hit Damage Increase) do not stack with each other. individual Special Attack damage and All Special Attack damage effects will stack.
An example was provided for what will and won't stack for Special Attack Damage effects:
- Example 1: Critical Hit Damage Increase and All Special Attack Damage Increase will stack.
- Example 2: If you have Back Attack Damage +10% and +15%, only the +15% applies.
- Example 3: Back Attack Damage +10% and Critical Hit Damage +5% will stack.
Removing Resistances in PvP
Players have been asking for this change for years, the removal of Resistances in PvP to help combat feel less "RNG" as this built in passive effect could essentially negate a crowd control effect. You can check these in My Stats as well.
You might notice that Ignore Resistance and Grapple Resistance have been removed, this is because they're no longer needed as resistances aren't used in PvP now.

Passive skills have recevied changes on some classes that previously had increased or gave ignore resistance effects. Class buffs have also been changed in the same way.
They've also changed or removed Resistance increase, decrease, or Ignore Resistance effects from certain class skills in line with these Resistance changes.
The patch notes has a full list of Class Changes that show these changes, you can find them here!
Characters Base Resistances have also been standardized, meaning Berserker, Witch, and Wizard have now been changed to have a base of 20%.
Grapple Changes
A new visual effect has been added to Grapples to make them stand out, allowing players to be more aware of a Grapple taking place:
Here's some of the changes made in a simple to read, bulletpoint format:
- Melee and ranged grapples to have a 0.3 second startup time before activating.
- Dash grapples to have a 0.4 second startup time before activating.
- Changed grapple success or failure to be determined instantly when you attempt the grapple.
- All characters gain Super Armor on Grapple fails, and can perform other actions after 0.4 seconds.
- During the first 0.3 seconds of the grapple startup, your character can rotate based on the camera direction.
This adds a small wind up to Grapples that make them less instant, with this and the visual effect they seem to be trying to make Grapples easier to avoid and punish.

People will definitely have opinions on Super Armor being provided on a Grapple failure but it seems like the 0.4 seconds where you can't move does open up a window to deal damage to a player who's missed a grab.
There is also some Class specific changes to aiming your Grapple, mostly on ranged grabs:
Nova's Punishing Trap, Hashashin's Constriction, and Sage's Seize, your character can only rotate towards the camera direction immediately after casting, and can't rotate afterwards.
During Corsair's Heart-catcher Patraca, your character can rotate when cast in place, but if comboed after another skill, the same rule applies as above.
Summon Damage Calculation Formula Changes
Summons and their balance was one of the things the devs mentioned as a focus during the Heidel Ball 2025 when discussing the Combat System Overhaul, as far as I can tell the changes aren't shown on tooltips anywhere.
This might be because alot of the changes here seem to be based around Summons being considered Monsters previously and how the summons work passively. Here are the changes:
- Changed so the character's Special Attack damage Increase effects now apply to the summons' damage.
- Changed so summons no longer become stronger at night.
- In PvP, monster-related stats (such as Monster Damage Reduction and Monster Damage Reduction Rate) no longer affect damage taken from summons.
- Changed so buffs that increase damage now also boost summons' damage.
- Example: Applies in places such as Yzrahid Highlands, Tungrad Ruins, and Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Underground).
- Adjusted the base damage of summons to keep their overall power about the same after these changes.
- Reduced the damage of direct attacks by summons (except Black Spirit skills) by 36.5%.
Accuracy Rate and Evasion Rate Removed
This one is one of the simpler changes, it's just a stat merge that should make stats a little less convuluted, or that's the idea anyway, here's the changes:
- Merged Accuracy and Accuracy Rate, as well as Evasion and Evasion Rate, to make character stats easier to understand.
- Removed Accuracy Rate and converted each 1% into Accuracy +4.
- Removed Evasion Rate and converted each 1% into Evasion +4.
Class Specializations / Groups
A big change to classes has been added. Now classes will have a sort of Rock/Paper/Scissors to their stats, classes will basically deal 5% more damage to the classes they're good against.
All classes have a base damage ratio of 89.29% now and classes have been placed into the Vanguard, Skirmisher or Pulverizer role.
- Vanguard - Deals +5% damage to Pulverizers
- Skirmisher - Deals +5% damage to Vanguards
- Pulverizer - Deals +5% damage to Skirmishers

All classes have had adjusted PvP damage ratios for all class skills to match the unified base damage ratio.
- These changes aim to ensure that the gameplay experience remains as similar as possible to before, with damage adjustments reflecting each class's base damage ratio change.
- If a class previously had a 100% PvP damage ratio, both PvE and PvP damage have been increased.
- Shai's PvP base damage ratio has been increased by 38.14% and this increase is directly applied to the Shai's PvP damage.

Monster Zone Changes
Because of the changes to the combat system, there's been adjustments made to grind zones, this is so that players can grind efficiently at zones that match their AP.
You may notice reduced efficiency if you subjugate in zones where your AP exceeds the recommended AP because they've changed things to encourage grinding at areas closer to your AP.
| Monster Zone | Recommended AP Before | Recommended AP After |
| Jade Starlight Forest | 260 | 270 (▲10) |

They've adjusted the loot obtainable from monster zones with Recommended AP at 270 or higher according to each zone's Recommended AP, adjusting the revenue from the spots as needed.
They've also changed Fortunate Golden Pig Cave monsters to now be affected by DP reduction effects.
There's a detailed table on Monster Zone Adjustments that you can find here! (Scroll up a bit!)
Agris Fever Changes
There's been a change to Agris Fever. While testing the devs noticed that if every monster zone consumed Agris Fever at the same rate, some lower‑AP zones could actually become more profitable.
To get around this they've set Agris Fever consumption per hour on live servers to range between 20,000 and 30,000, depending on the zone's difficulty meaning the Silver per hour stays where it should be.
There's a detailed table on Agris Consumption that you can find here! (Scroll up a bit!)
Species & Damage Changes

- Updated species and damage descriptions for better clarity.
-
- Extra Damage to Humans → Extra AP Against Humans
- Extra Damage to Demihumans → Extra AP Against Demihumans
