Free PEN Blackstar

Introduction

All adventurers are able to obtain a Free PEN Blackstar Weapon of your choice! 

• The Free PEN Blackstar can be either a Main Hand or Awakening Weapon of your choice 
• Be careful because If you choose the wrong weapon you will not be able to change it
• This is not a timed event, all players including new adventurers will be able to receive this reward
• If you'd like to have the PEN Blackstar for the new class Dosa, wait until his release to open it on him. 

 

This PEN Blackstar doesn't replace the old TET Blackstar given out, as a new adventurer you can still get both!

 

How to get the Free PEN Blackstar Weapon

The give away is a lot like the TET Blackstar that was given out or the free Dream Horse give away. There's a few basic requirements to meet but most adventurers likely already meet them. 

 

First is to Reach Level 61 with a character and the second is related to main line quests:

Complete main questline up to Mediah	[Main] - [Reliving the Darkness]   ▶ Apocalyptic Prophecy
Complete Mountain of Eternal Winter main questline	[Main] - [Mountain of Eternal Winter] In Search of the Flame that Consumes Gods   ▶ [Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli
Complete Morning Light main questline	[Main] - [LoML] Ruler of Taebaek   ▶ [Koo Mihyun] Seungsan's Secret
Complete the Simplified main questline	With a Season Character, from the NPC Fughar   ▶ [Special Growth] Fughar's Memorandum - Chapter 11

 

If you've completed these requirements you can hit the (Y) button to bring up the Challenges window to accept your PEN Blackstar Weapon Box. 

 

 

Inside the PEN Blackstar Weapon Box is two other boxes, you can either choose between a Main Hand Weapon box or an Awakening Weapon Box.

 

Your choice is not reversible so make sure you choose carefully when selecting your box!

 

 

You'll then have to type in the name of the item box as a fail safe to make sure you haven't accidentally selected the wrong option:

 

If you open the box on the wrong class you can use a Main Weapon Exchange Coupon or Awakening Weapon Exchange Coupon. 

 

You won't be able to open the Awakening box on Dosa until his Awakening is released in a future update! 

 

Choosing which PEN Blackstar Weapon to get for Free

If you're a newer adventurer or don't yet have a PEN Blackstar, then Main Hand will generally give you more stats and is the safer choice. 

 

 

Either option is fantastic. Another thing to keep in mind is that this PEN can't be placed on the Central Marketplace just like the previous TET Blackstar that was given out. 

 

If you're new, using the PEN Blackstar for your Mainhand and TET Blackstar for Awakening is most efficient. 

 

New Sovereign Weapon Requirements

 

With the announcement of Sovereign Weapons (Weapons more powerful than Blackstar weapons) at Heidel Ball, we saw that a PEN Blackstar is a crafting requirement of these new weapons. 

 

If you already have a PEN Blackstar Weapon, you may want to consider taking a Free PEN Blackstar Weapon of the same type. 

 

This is because it will allow you to craft the Sovereign weapon by combining two PEN Blackstars together. 

 

 

However there are other methods to obtain the Sovereign weapons by using only one PEN Blackstar Weapon, but information on how difficult this will be is limited. 

 

 

This method using a Boss caphras level 20 and Gem of Twilight was stated to be the most expensive to create. 

 

 

The other method requires players to obtain the Primordial Flame, an item we know little about other than it will be challenging to obtain. 

 

But keep in mind the Sovereign Weapons will be added with Land of the Morning Light Part 2, which was set to be released in Korea on August 7th and then require further localization for Global release, aiming to release in fall.
