Introduction

A new system has been added to allow Cosmetic Outfits to have Life Skill effects!

• Cash shop Life Skill outfits have stat effects that improve your Life Skills 
• A lot of players don't want to equip them due to their appearance 
• A new system has been added that lets you transfer this bonus to other cosmetic outfits
• This is mainly to allow you to Life Skill in whatever cosmetics outfit you want to wear 

 

Merv's Silver Needle and Knots

Previously, Cash shop outifts that give life skill bonuses had to be worn when doing Life Skills. This limited how much customization these players have while performing Life Skills. 

 

There's now a new system that lets you extract Knots from these outfits, so that you can wear whatever outfit you want while still getting the effects.

 

 

This works for most of the Life Skill outfits, the Venecil Dress is the type of costume this effects. Basically set effects that buff your life skills on outfits that can't be mixed and matched with other outfits.

 

 

You'll be able to extract the stats from these outfits using a new item called Merv's Silver Needle. The needle extracts effects from functional costumes, and create Knots that grant those effects.

 

You can obtain the Merv's Silver Needle from an Old Moon Manager in major cities: 

 

• Existing functional Pearl costumes can be processed into Knots with their respective effects.
• Knots can be equipped on Life Skill gear.
• To activate an extracted Knot effect, you must use a Black Spirit's Claw on a Pearl outfit.
• Extracting a Knot from a costume will reset the costume's dye info.

Functional Pearl costumes obtained through Processing have the same wear effects as regular Pearl outfits and count toward Pearl outfit set effects.

 

• Discovery Radius +10m
• Death Penalty Resistance +10%
• Amity +10%
• Jump Height +0.5m

 

There are a few exceptions to this. The Bear Necessities Costume's Attack/Casting Speed +2 cannot be extracted with Merv's Silver Needle.

 

• The effects of the Bear Necessities Hat and Bear Necessities Knot do not stack.
• The effects of the Venia Riding Hat and Venia Knot do not stack.

 

Merv's Tailoring Tool can't be used on functional costumes that have already had a Merv's Silver Needle used on it.

Merv's Silver Needle and Knots are stored in the Pearl Inventory and Merv's Silver Needle and Knots can be exchanged with an Old Moon Manager for Gold Bar 100G. 

 

If the outfit doesn't have a Knot item available, then it can't be used. Despite being outfits in the costume section of the Pearl Shop, the Fishing and swimming outfits seem to be the ones mostly effected by this.
