Godr-Ayed Weapons

Introduction

Godr-Ayed Weapons are alternative upgrade paths for Blackstar Weapons!  

• You can convert mainhand, awakening and offhand weapons to Godr-Ayed weapons 
• Upon completing the exchange questline you'll be rewarded enhancement materials 
• Godr-Ayed weapons can be a good alternative for hitting certain AP brackets
• PEN Godr-Ayed weapons have the same stats as PEN Blackstar weapons  

 

Godr-Ayed Weapons are no longer available, this serves as context for returning players with no weapons.

 

Godr-Ayed Weapon Removal

Now that getting PEN Blackstars has been made much easier, with content like Olvia Academy and the free gift PEN Blackstar, the devs have decided to remove Godr-Ayed weapons as they no longer serve a purpose. 

 

This also includes the removal of Scorching Sun Crystal, Scorching Sun Gemstone, and their crafting recipes and Scorching Sun Shard and the quest it is obtained from which effects Ator's Shoes & Dahn's Gloves.

Requirements 

To be able to start the quest for converting your Blackstar Weapon into a Godr-Ayed variant, you'll need a TET Blackstar Weapon and a Scorching Sun Crystal.

 

Scorching Sun Crystals can be obtained by grinding Calpheon Elvia spots for Scorching Sun Shards. 

 

To craft the Scorching Sun Crystals use Processing (L) and use 10x Scorching Sun Shards, 30x Magical Shards and 100x Black Stone (Weapons). 

 

 

They can also be obtained pretty easily from the Central Marketplace. You'll need 1x Scorching Sun Crystal for each weapon you want to craft. 

 

Once you have the requirements you can start the quest "[Godr-Ayed Weapon] Merindora's Calling" from your Black Spirit. 

 

 

Make sure the TET Blackstar Weapon is in your inventory and not equipped in order to start the questline. 

 

Godr-Ayed Weapons 

Godr-Ayed weapons were added as a way to offer a different enhancement path for Blackstar weapons.  

 

After a short questline you're able to convert your Blackstar Weapon into a Godr-Ayed weapon, allowing you to to make smaller gains similar to caphras but with enhancing.

Mainhand, Awakening and Offhand weapons can all be converted to Godr-Ayed varients.

 

Like with Blackstar Offhands, the Godr-Ayed offhands aren't really recommended because the stats aren't much different to that of a Kutum.

Enhancing Godr-Ayed Weapons 

To enhance Godr-Ayed weapons you will need to use Scorching Sun Gemstones which can be obtained by grinding materials in Calpheon Elvia for Scorching Sun Shards.

 

Scorching Sun Shards are usually in abundence on the Central Marketplace which can save you time

 

There are 2 Heating recipes for crafting the Scorching Sun Gemstones
2x Sharp Black Crystal Shard 1x Scorching Sun Shards 1x Mass of Pure Magic	1x Scorching Sun Shard 1x Flawless Magical Black Stone

 

The enhancements for Godr-Ayed weapons are not guaranteed to succeed, its still RNG chances. Here's how the upgrades work: 

 

 

The enhancements take less crons each level and aren't as expensive to repair, only losing 10 durability per attempt rather than 20 like Blackstar Weapons. 

 

However, going past DUO or TRI means that the costs begin to add up and the cron stone costs keep on increasing. Generally stopping DUO or TRI to hit AP brackets is recommended.

Godr-Ayed Appearance 

The Godr-Ayed weapons also come with their own unique purple glow instead of the usual Blackstar red glow which could be a reason to pick them.  

 

 

If you already have a PEN Blackstar and would prefer the purple glow, you can convert your PEN Blackstar to Godr-Ayed instead. 

 

The reverse is true also, you can convert a PEN Godr-Ayed weapon to a PEN Blackstar if you prefer the look of the red glow. 

 

Converting Godr-Ayed Weapons 

In order to convert your weapons you just need a Scorching Sun Crystal and the PEN Blackstar or PEN Godr-Ayed weapon. 

 

There's now a new method that no longer requires a quest to be completed: 

 

Blackstar ↔ Godr-Ayed Weapon Upgrade via Scorching Sun Crystal

1. TET (IV) Blackstar weapon upgrades into +0 Godr-Ayed weapon 2. PEN (V) Blackstar weapon upgrades into PEN (V) Godr-Ayed weapon 3. PEN (V) Godr-Ayed weapon upgrades into PEN (V) Blackstar weapon

 

You can't change a +0 Godr-Ayed weapon back to a TET Blackstar which is the same as before. 

 

The exchange now works as an upgrade through the reform menu by speaking to the Black Spirit, or you can right click the Scorching Sun Crystal to be taken directly there.
