Rich Merchant's Ring Guide

Introduction

The Rich Merchant's Ring is a rare treasure item that gives you 5% extra silver from marketplace sales!
  • The pieces of the ring have incredibly low drop rates and it will take a long time to gather all 5 of them
  • Unlike the Old Moon Trade Pass which is a one-use consumable item, the ring is permanent.
  • Crafting the Rich Merchant's Ring will also unlock a unique title and furniture item like other treasures
  • Despite being a Ring, this isn't an equippable item, the treasure is used from your inventory, it's not gear.

Non-Map Pieces

Some of the items needed for the Rich Merchant's Ring are not farmed items that must be grinded for, instead they're much easier to obtain.

You'll need the following items that aren't map pieces:

Grindable Map Pieces

The map pieces are a significant grind, the Rich Merchant's Ring is a valuable treasure item and as such is usually considered really difficult, or at least time consuming grind to obtain.

It's important to consider this before setting out to grind for the Rich Merchant's Ring because it's more of a long term goal than something that's usually achieved in the short term, although the drops are all RNG based.

Above is the pattern you need to use when crafting the Rich Merchant's Ring, to combine it, use your Yaz's Combinables Pouch in your inventory.

To identify the Rich Merchant's Ring pieces you'll need to go to NPC Shakatu in Valencia, here's his location:

Ash Forest

The first piece comes from the grind spot Ash Forest in Kamasylvia. The spot has different requirements based on which version you decide to grind. There are two Dehkia versions of this grind spot.

Here's where you can find Ash Forest over in the Kamasylvia region, the Archer Guard Outpost is nearby:

The base version of the grind spot requires 300 AP and 390 DP but the money per hour is pretty below average, especially for the spot's gear requirements.

The better version of the spot to run would be the Dehkia level 1. Dehkia 1 requires 310 AP and 410 DP, which is not too much more than the original base spot.

You can also grind the Merchant's Ring piece from Dehkia level 2 which has higher requirements and money per hour.

The money per hour is much higher and the actual ring piece chance is a little higher too, so if you have the gear, consider the dehkia version instead.

Padix Island

The next piece can be found over on Padix Island, the requirements are much lower with a recommendation of 250 AP, it's a less popular spot. You can sail there by travelling north from Port Epheria.

Here's a better look at the location of Padix Island if you've not seen it, it's close to the old Pirates grind location.

The money per hour on Padix Island isn't fantastic but it's not too bad for its gear requirements, here are the drops and average money per hour from Padix Island.

If you're into hunting Blue Whales, they also have a chance to drop this piece. The final end chest from Atoraxxion: Sycrakea also has a chance to drop the piece.

Sycraia Underwater Ruins

Next up you'll need to sail over to Sycraia Underwater Ruins which you can reach Sycraia from the closeby to Iliya Island if that makes things easier in terms of navigation.

If you've never visited Sycraia Underwater Ruins before here's its location on the map to help you locate it:

There's two grind spots within the underwater ruins that you can grind, either the top location which has easier mobs and a much higher chance of actually getting the treasure piece, although its still super low.

Or the underground grind spot that will net you more money per hour, practically double the silver and the requirements are still pretty basic. The lower spot just has a lower ring piece drop rate.

Dark rift bosses can also drop this map piece although the drop rate is miniscule at 0.0001%. The final end chest from Atoraxxion: Sycrakea also has a chance to drop the piece.

Crypt of Resting Thoughts

Another more end game spot this time and much better money per hour. If you've not been to Crypt of Resting thoughts, you can find it easily by heading over to O'draxxia.

The Crypt of Resting Thoughts has an 300 AP and 400 DP gear requirement, but because of that, as mentioned the money per hour is much better than the previous spots.

It also has the lung drops if you happen to also want to craft a La Orzeca outfit, this works especially well since the next spot is also Olun's Valley.

The final end chest from Atoraxxion: Sycrakea also has a chance to drop this map piece or you can try to grab it from Sea Monster Hunting if that's something you enjoy.

Candidum, Lekrashan, Saltwater Crocodile, Nineshark and Black Rust all seem to drop the piece at a 0.000005% rate, so you're probably better off just grinding Crypt.

Olun's Valley

Olun's Valley is an end game spot with mechanics, usually it's considered a party spot for up to three players. It also drops pieces required for the La Orzeca outfit much like Crypt of Resting Thoughts.

Olun's Valley and the Dehkia versions of Olun's Valley both drop the ring. Base Olun's Valley has lower gear requirements and is still pretty decent money, but the Dehkia version is recommended if you can grind it comfortably.

The ring piece drop rate is barely different at all, but Dehkia 1 Olun's Valley offers more money per hour for slightly higher gear requirements, so in most cases it's worth it.

If you've got the gear for it, you can also farm Dehkia II Olun's Valley which offers higher money per hour and much higher rates of getting the actual ring piece to drop.

The piece can also be dropped in the reward chest of Atoraxxion: Yolunakea but again you're probably better off just grinding for it given the drop rates.

Unique Rich Merchant's Ring Completion Rewards

When you've crafted the Rich Merchant's Ring, you are able to unlock the Plutocrat title and can be given a furniture piece as a reward for creating the map.

You need to have completed the questline "[The Great Expedition] Crow's Nest, Misty Island of Mystery" from the Suggested tab (O) in order to speak with Patrigio.

If you need it, in our Pit of the Undying guide we have a guide on how to complete this short questline in more detail, which you can find here:

Pit of The Undying

In order to complete the quest you will need the treasure map in your inventory, so make sure you bring it along when speaking to Patrigio.

Here's how to get to the Crow's Nest, you'll need to sail there (Click on the images for full size) :

Once you make it to Illiya Island, hook around to the right then sail north, like in the image below:

The quest he'll give you is called The Treasure's True Owner: Rich Merchant's Ring which will award you with the title and a Masterpiece: Rich Merchant's Ring
