Introduction
Dream Horses are unique horses that require their own upgrade system to reach Tier 9!
- Tier 9 Horses have their own unique abilities and themes, they glide, gain extra dashes and run on sand
- You'll need to train your horse in a specific way to make it eligible to be enhanced to Tier 9
- These horses can then be upgraded further to Mythical Horses (Tier 10) with further enhanced abilities
- Each account gains a Tier 9 Horse for free once per family but this guide will be more for the upgrade path
Free Dream Horse (Tier 9)
First off, if you're a new player and haven't gotten a Dream horse just yet, it's good to know that you can actually get one for free, along with a Tier 10, so you won't need to bother with making one of your own if you just want a horse.
If you're into training and the horse based life skills then by all means you can use this guide to learn how to upgrade a Tier 8 into a Tier 9 horse, but I'd still recommend picking up the free ones to get around on.
The above guides show which free horses might be most optimal to pick up, as well have a breakdown of each horse and it's abilities.
What Is A Dream Horse?
Tier 8 Horses are the last "normal" horses, a Dream Horse is a Tier 9 horse and requires a special upgrade path in order to be enhanced. This costs special materials that can only be used to enhance Tier 8 horses.

Generally Arduanatt (Pegasus) is the Tier 9 that people would make first, they were most popular since they have the ability to glide and not take any fall damage from huge heights.
Doom Horses are the fastest across land as they have more sprint charges and can deal some decent damage, they were also popular ways to level alt characters at one point.

There's also the Diné which was probably the least popular of all the horses, it's unique ability lets it run across sand. This let players travel quickly across Valencia.

There was also another Dream horse added much more recently, we have a full guide on it, which you can check out here, the 4th Dream horse Voltarion:
Dream Horse Requirements
Before your horse can become a Dream Horse (Tier 9) it needs to be a Tier 8 Courser which requires it to know certain skills, your horse will also need to be Level 30.
Optimizing a horse to become a Tier 9 usually requires Mount Skill Change Coupons or Mount Skill Selection Coupons.
You'll need the skills Charge, Drift, Sprint, Instant Accel, Sideways, S: Instant Accel, S: Sideways.

A Courser horse will have a gold icon instead of silver. When horses have a chance to learn skills when they level up, so you want to start with a Level 1 horse, train it to level 15. At this point you want the horse to know around 14 skills.
Generally people give up on a horse if it doesn't have 11 skills at level 15, it's not worth the investment. Once you've got the right amount of skills, you'll need to head to the Stable Keeper to change your skills.

You'll be aiming to replace high chance to learn skills Forechop and Hind kick for hard to learn skills like S:Sideways. Make sure you select the horse you want to change the skills on. You'll see the % chance to change skill successfully.

Basically, you swap high chance to learn skills for low ones and hope it works. Then you go level up your horse 1 time to try and re-learn a high chance to learn skill like Forechop or Hind kick again.
This gives the best chance for you to increase your number of skills learned, you then repeat this until you've got all the needed skills and your horse is level 30. Some horses come with skills like the ones given from the Season Pass.

This can remove some of the RNG, so if you want horses and have season character slots, you might want to use them to get level 15 and get these horses. Some of the newly added wild horses from taming also have skills pre-learned.

Courser Training (Tier 9 Enhancement)
After getting all the skills needed and hitting level 30 on your horse of choice, you can now have the luxury of attempting to enhance it. You'll need to visit the Stonetail Horse Ranch or NPC Malabee in Grana.
Take off any gear the horse has and empty its inventory then check it in to the stable. You'll be able to see a new option called Courser Training at these stables.

You'll need to use special ingredients to increase the Courser's Skill, Elegance, and Strength stats to hit a total of 200%, then you can attempt to enhance your Tier 8 to a Tier 9 Dream Horse.
The probability of the horse you get is determined by the skill you've trained most, the max you can have is 180% in one skill, giving you a 90% rate to get that horse.
Items generally give 1% but there are special items that are often given away that provide you with 2% bonuses. You can buy items of the Central Marketplace but the Pegasus and Doom are usually sold out, plenty of Dine though.

If your skill is over 100%, you'll need to give twice as many materials as the effectiveness is halved to make it harder to reach all the way up to 180%.
The 2% items come from all kinds of events, logins and usually come pre-packaged as a Courser Training Box offering a number of the items, there's also boxes that give up to 100 of each material.

The enhance is also RNG so it can fail. You'll be able to use 100 Cron Stones when making an enhancement attempt, this will save half of your used training materials, otherwise you lose all of the skill training you have invested.
It's recommended to use Crons unless you have a lot of the training items or are just trying to enhance the horse for fun, they can start to add up though. Whenever you fail a horse attempt for Tier 9 you'll get +1 fail stack.

Ancient Anvil was added as a pity system, after 30 attempts you have 100% chance to make your horse into a Tier 9, this also applies to Tier 10 horses.
There's also one last material you'll need to have called a Krogdalo's Origin Stone which you need for every enhancement attempt that you try. You can usually buy these from the Central Marketplace to save time if needed.

If you don't want to buy them or are trying to train horses and have a cash return or you're attempting to make profit, you can also craft or grind for the item too.
