Introduction
Before, Treasure items were locked to certain areas, now Allan Serbin's Landscape gives you options!
- Allan Serbin's Landscape gives you more options for grinding out treasure items and materials!
- This means that treasure item grinding is no longer locked to zones that might be way worse for silver
- It also gives variety to the long grinds that some treasure items require in order to complete
- Allan Serbin's Landscape opens up AP 300+ zones for players to grind for these special items
What is Allan Serbin's Landscape?
Allan Serbin is a man trapped within a frame in Tarif, who has apparently created a landscape painting that has mysterious power which players can now use.
What this actually means is, you can use Allan Serbin's Landscape to obtain treasure items that were once locked to one zone, so players don't have to live in one location for countless hours until the item finally drops.
But there's a catch, you'll still need to grind the original zones (which is kind of a good thing because it keeps them relevant in some way) in order to get the resource to power Allan Serbin's Landscape which is "Paint."
When you kill monsters in the original treasure item zones, you get paint which charges Allan Serbin's Landscape, you then use these charged points to power another zone.

Previously, only certain monsters in those treasure-dropping zones would drop the required materials. Now, with Allan Serbin's Landscape, any monster in AP 300+ zones can drop them
The devs mention that the drop rates from the treasure item materials have been adjusted to take into account things like monster density, I'd assume they're trying to keep the treasure item drop rates similar.
Using Allan Serbin's Landscape
To use this feature, you'll be able to see the icon in the top left corner of the screen, right near your Agris Fever. The icon looks like a little stamp or image / painting.

The Allan Serbin's Landscape paints can be seen in the Monster Zone Info UI so you can check which zones drop the paint needed for recharging. You can also check multiple zones at once.
Ash Forest for example would drop the paint needed to grind for it's Ring Merchant's Ring Piece:
You can't use Allan Serbin's Landscape for the infinite HP and MP potion grind spots, they don't drop any paints. This is likely because the potion grinds are more new player focused.

It wouldn't make much sense to offer 300+ AP grind spots to newer players trying to get their infinite potions, there's also already Atanis Elements that were added to offer more grind spot variety.
I've already mentioned Ash Forest works because it drops the Ring Merchant's Ring Piece but Aakman and Hysteria also work because of the Upgraded Compass pieces.

There's also some items that people might consider to be treasure items like Elvia's cups and the various grind spots that provide Flame items to convert boss gear to Fallen God gear but these are not included.
Likely due to the fact they've already got a pity system in place and because of their availability to be purchased on the Central Marketplace.

You can however also obtain the Lafi's Bedmountain Upgraded Compass parts, so it's essentially the three treasure items that can take a considerable amount of time to achieve.

There's also the Map of Unknown Pieces for The Archaeologist's Map available as well, here's Roud Sulfur Mine for example of a spot dropping the paints:
Is Allan Serbin's Landscape Worth It?
This new system doesn't only give you grind spot options for when you're bored of looking at the same surroundings, it's very likely you can obtain more silver per hour at 300+ AP zones.
For example, if we take some where that isn't all that popular like Padix Island, which isn't exactly known for its silver per hour, we can see it's hourly rate is on the lower end using our Global Grind Tracker!
Now it might not be entirely worthless at over 500m per hour but when you compare it to the newer zones, there's zones like Golden Pig Cave that can bring in over 2 billion silver an hour.
This also applies to the newer Edania zones if you have the gear needed to grind them comfortably like Nymphamare Castle for example which can push well over 2 billion with just standard drop buffs.

While there is a good war story or two to get out of forcing players to grind the same spot for thousands of hours, making them become hermits in Valencia desert, this is probably a better option.
It let's players stick to a goal without having to be forced to grind the same location over and over and different surroundings can definitely break up the grind, what do you think? Let us know!
