Ancient & Primordial Hammers

Introduction

Two new hammers that let you upgrade the new Sovereign Weapons and Kharazad Accessories!

• Regular J's Hammers can't be used on Sovereign Weapons, the new Primordial Hammer can
• Like the regular hammers, these two protect your enhancement, acting like free cron stones
• The new Ancient Hammer can be only be used on the new Kharazad Accessories above TRI
• Sovereign Weapons also need to be at least TRI before the Primordial Hammer can be used 

 

2. Obtaining the Hammer

The new hammers have been given out by using a Coupon Code to celebrate the winter BDO FESTA and the 10 year anniversary of Black Desert. 

 

All you have to do to grab your hammers is use the coupon code in game. If you're not sure how, hit Esc and search for Redeem Coupon Code, then enter the code below:

After you've used the code, you can grab the Hammers from your Mail, make sure you grab it before it expires!  

 

Once you've claimed them, the hammers don't have a duration, so if you've got the inventory space you might as well claim them or claim them on an alt character if you don't intend to use them any time soon.

While players using these hammers are likely to be familiar with Sovereign and Kharazad equipment and how hammers work in general, newer players might be unfamilar with what the gifts from the codes are used for. 

 

3. Using the Hammer

Right clicking the hammer in your inventory will take you to the Black Spirit enhancing window. Just like with other hammers you need to make sure you click the check box for the hammer. 

 

You'll then be taken to the standard Black Spirit Enhancement window: 

 

Make sure that when you're enhancing your Sovereign Weapon or Kharazad Accessory that the item is enhanced to at least TRI. 

 

You can't use the hammers on these items if they're not already enhanced to at least TRI level

 

Here is an example of a TRI Sovereign weapon enhancement attempt with a 160 stack (150+10) taken from our Enhancement Calculator which you can see here! 

 

 

As you can see, at this enhancement level the hammer is only worth 780 Cron Stones which isn't a great deal. When you consider that most people use regular hammers for Blackstar attempts. 

 

Because of this, it might be better to hold off on enhancing your Sovereign Weapon, personally i'd wait until at least TET or PEN but even then, the cron stone values are still much lower than Blackstar's cron costs. 

 

 

This might not seem like a huge deal, but when you compare it the 1350 Cron Stones required for this attempt vs the 780 from TRI to TET you get a decent size difference. 

 

If you obtain the Cron Stones from a Blacksmith NPC, the extra 570 crons needed for a PEN to HEX comes out to 1.71b at 3 million silver each which is a decent chunk of extra value.

 

This scales with the cron cost of the enhancements but you'll want to factor in the success rate of the chosen enhancement as well when deciding if you want to use the hammer or keep it for later.
