Failstacks & Naderr's Band

Introduction

Failstacking is an important aspect of Enhancing in Black Desert and acts as a pity system! 

• Increasing your number of failstacks improves the sucess rate of your gear enhancement  
• Failing enhancements provides you with additional failstacks depending on what item you fail on
• There are other ways to increase failstacks like Advice of Valks or Valk's Cry for additional stacks 
• The Naderr's Band is a huge quality of life for Failstacking, letting you switch out stacks while enhancing 

 

Enhancement Failstacks

Failstacks are a pity system within Black Desert, simply put, when you fail an enhancement you're awarded failstacks that increase the chance your enhancement will succeed. 

 

 

The higher level the item is, the harder it is to enhance, if you're not sure how many failstacks you can check in game using "Another Adventurer's Choice" 

 

This will show up on gear that's enhanced using failstacks often, so you might not see it on items such as Naru Accessories. 

 

It'll give you a good idea on how many stacks you'll need. There's also an easy way to get failstacks up to +30 stacks by using Black Stones. 

 

Advice of Valks and Making Failstacks

Talk to your Black Spirit then head to the enhancement section, you'll see a + button next to Additional Enhancement Chance. 

 

 

Clicking on this button will open a new menu window for you to select a way to increase your failstack amount using items. 

 

 

Click on the type of Black Stone you want to use, you'll then be given another option showing the item cost for different failstack amounts. 

 

 

This was added to make failstacking easier rather than having to purposefully fail items over and over again to reach early level stacks. 

 

While that's still true for higher stacks, this is an easy way to bypass building stacks up to +30. Another way to avoid building stacks is Advice of Valks. 

 

 

Advice of Valks come in all different sizes, with ones such as +100 being rewards for graduating from the Season Server or from event / login rewards. 

 

They're often given out with coupon codes, too. You'll be given a good number of different Advice of Valks during your Season Pass as well. 

 

 

The season pass gives a really good amount of Advice of Valks, it's a great reason to use up your season tickets and run through different season characters to complete the pass. 

 

Completing the Season will also give you Season Special Gifts which usually give +100 valks, but there's also a +150 valks you can grab as well. 

 

 

For some additional Valks from the Seasonal Seals as well if you have some left over from your Seasonal characters. 

 

 

Valks Cry

There's another way to increase your failstack amount, the Valks Enhancement Chance, this acts as a seperate unit and can only be increased to +10.

 

 

Click the + button when talking to the black spirit or use the item Valks' Cry in your inventory by right clicking. 

 

 

You can get Valks' Cry from events and login rewards, you'll probably find that eventually you have more than you know what to do with. 

 

If you need some extra, you can grab some from the Loyalty store for just 200 each, not fantastic but they're available. 

 

 

Naderr's Belt

Naderr's belt was a quality of life feature added to enhancing that allows you to store different failstack amounts without having to switch character to make a new failstack. 

 

 

You can switch out your fail stacks to allow you to create a new failstack if your original stack gets too high. 

 

 

In order to unlock the Naderr's band you'll need to complete a Level 58 questline, the questline is short and easy to complete. 

 

 

Once you complete the questline you'll be given a Naderr's Parchment which you can use to gain a slot on your Naderr's band. 

 

 

You can buy another Naderr's Parchment  from the Loyalties store that you can use for a 2nd slot as well: 

 

More additional slots are obtained from the Pearl Shop but you shouldn't need more than the free slots for general enhancing, so it's not necessary to purchase additional slots if you don't want to.
