Fast Monster Kills

Introduction

Quickly complete Monster Subjugation quests like daily event quests in just minutes!

  • You'll be able to start this method immediately, all you'll need is a ranger and a horse
  • People used to level alts with mounted combat, this is the same kind of thing
  • You should be able to complete a 500 kill quest with no effort in 2 minutes or under
  • This is a quick way to complete kill quests you're uninterested for event rewards

Monster Subjugation Quests

These are quests that let you kill any mob at all in order to progress the quest, this is useful because it means we can run around one shotting easy mobs that are low level.

Some examples are the Monster Subjugation I-IV quests from NPC Fuhgar that were changed to only be 1000 monsters with the release of HYPERBOOST which give Infinite potion materials.

It also features in events that have you kill 500 monsters in order to gain a certain amount of currency, the Agent event is live at the time of writing.

Since these events can run for quite a while, doing monster subjugation quests can take a long time if you skip days and let them pile up with normal grinding.

Setup Required

This method doesn't need much effort at all to start, you will need to make a Ranger though. There may be other classes that can do this well like Tamer but Ranger is generally fastest.

It works so well because Ranger's basic attack triggers an AoE and she fires her arrows from horse back really quickly.

Since the mobs are so low level around the starter zones which are also packed with mobs, it really isn't tricky to one shot them at all. You can do it on a level 1 ranger easily.

Its cheap, too. You'll want to grab a +7 green grade bow from the Central Marketplace, they cost basically nothing at this point with how easy silver is to get.

This should give you enough AP to one shot early game zones but I like to get a Simple Cron Meal just to make sure, again the cost is worth it.

It's especially worth it if you log out after you're done, so the food buff sticks around, since you'll be done a 500 monster quest in 2 minutes or under that's around 45 uses.

You can then take whichever horse you want to use over to Western Guard Camp. This is useful because it's super close to where the game spawns a new character.

After that you can make your Ranger if you haven't already. Ignore the quests, run straight to Western Guard Camp to pick up your ride and then you can start blasting.

Completing The Quests

The imps around Western Guard Camp spawn quickly and in a pretty big loop, this is likely because they're used in the early sections of the game. It's not usually busy though.

I suppose a new class release might have them populated but just jump to a non-season server and you shouldn't have any issues at all. Imps near Heidel also work well.

The ring around the Western Guard Camp is where you're going to be riding around. Once you're mounted up, hit Shift+W until your horse gets up to speed.

It will then continue the motion for a while automatically without being held down. If you then hold down Left Click while riding, you'll continue the forward motion while firing.

Not at all complex stuff. If you happen to be a Ranger or want to tag one, you can use this method in a lot of spots, as long as the mobs are grouped and you can one shot them.

Aim for the center of packs since the AoE spreads outwards and will one shot the whole cluster, this is how you'll speed up kills, don't waste time trying to hit every mob individually.

This is also a great method if you're a Life skiller who doesn't want to go out and grind but still wants the rewards from events or quests, it's very low effort.

I know this method was basically just used to quickly level alts back in the day so its nothing ground breaking but for newer players who might not have tried it, its a decent trick for quick quests.

If you are completing this by Western Guard Camp, you'll want to route through the camp to reset your loop rotation. Start north side, circle around to the east then back through from the south.

The obvious downside of this method is that the drops are worthless, so if you're doing grinding once a day anyway you really don't need to worry about speeding it up!
