Introduction
During the Heidel Ball 2025 the devs announced a new gift for new players starting the game!
- To help new players catch up, the devs announced they'd be giving new players a way to make 10 billion silver
- Previously the average player would finish the season server with around 400 million to 1 billion silver
- The devs decided that these new players need more raw silver to help make their gearing journey smoother
- To be classed as a new player, your account needs to be under 60 days old or 1440 hours.
Extra Silver for New players
The rewards are locked behind a few easy but time consuming tasks, the devs mentioned they were hoping to avoid exploitation using this method.
This is less of a guide and more of a PSA to new players or people interested in starting Black Desert. During the time of writing the game is also free, with this and all the gifts from Heidel Ball 2025 its a good time to start the game.
If you're new, we strongly recommend you play on the Season Servers as they're made to catch up new adventurers. You can click the image for our complete Season Server guide!
There's also a long hot time event, giving +1000% combat exp and +100% item drop rate which helps players level up quickly. If you are new, you'll also want to check out the free coupon gifts given at the Heidel Ball.
Earning Your Free 10 Billion Silver
If you're a new adventurer, you'll be able to find the objectives you need to complete in the (Y) menu, you'll also have this special icon at the top of your screen.
If you're not logged in or are curious as to what you need to do, here's the list of the requirements:
| Requirements | Rewards |
| 1. Reach Lv. 61 | Gold Bar 10,000G x2 |
|
2. Complete a Main Quest
(Choose any one of the following) Mediah Main Quest: Apocalyptic Prophecy |
Gold Bar 10,000G x2 |
|
3. Complete a Quest from Abyss One: The Magnus Main Questline (Complete the quest below)
[The Magnus] Morning's Breeze |
Gold Bar 10,000G x2 |
| 4. Play for 50 Hours (Family Playtime) | Gold Bar 10,000G x2 |
|
5. Graduate Your Season Character (Complete the quest below)
[Leveling Aid] Fughar's Aid (You can accept this quest from the Black Spirit's Suggested quest tab once you have the Graduation Cap in your inventory or equipment window after graduating from the Season server.) |
Gold Bar 10,000G x2 |
These are all things that a new adventurer would be doing anyway. Playing through the season server and the main story quests will have you complete most of these objectives.
Once you complete an objective, you can claim the rewards in the (Y) menu, giving you plenty of silver to start out your journey with. Here's what you can expect it to look like:
Reaching Level 61
Unlike a lot of MMOs, it's actually faster in Black Desert to just kill mobs to level up. The only issue with this method is that you'll lose out on a lot of the freebies given by the Season Pass and the main quests.
You'll also need to do a Main Quest line for the second objective, so it's a bit of a no brainer to just do both together. If you don't feel like questing and would rather just see if you like the game first, it is possible to do.
Again, it makes more sense in this case to do both objectives at the same time. I just know that for a lot of people questing for hours can get pretty boring but they're easy and will help you level up.
You can also mix the two! Quest until you get bored and then level up some by grinding, the end game of Black Desert doesn't involve completing quests, instead you'll be grinding monsters.
Completing A Main Questline
As mentioned, for the second objective you just need to complete a main questline, the following ones will work:
- Mediah Main Quest: Apocalyptic Prophecy
- Everfrost Main Quest: [Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli
- Morning Light Main Quest: [Koo Mihyun] Royal Decree
I'd strongly recommend starting in the Ancient Stone Chamber, the other two are fine but offer different experiences. The Ancient Stone Chamber starts the first questline with in Black Desert.

The others were added as expansions and while they do take you from level 1 to 56, Ancient Stone Chamber does a better job at giving you a mix of combat and quests.

Completing The Magnus Questline
The Magnus is a way to unlock fast travelling around Black Desert, it also rewards a free piece of PEN armor so it's content you'll need to do anyway.
It's a series of puzzles that we have a guide for, it should only take a few hours to complete when using the guide. It also gives you shared storage around the world which was an amazing quality of life change for the game.
Playing for 50 Hours
This one will happen naturally, if you're a life skiller who enjoys life skilling, AFK fishing can defintely help with boosting up those hours, but this one really won't be difficult!
You can check how many hours you've logged on Black Desert in the Character window, you'll be able to see the amount by your portrait, for a new account it might show a few days like this:
Graduation from a Season Server
This one really shouldn't be rushed too hard, you can get a lot of benefits from playing on the Season server, which you can see in our Season Server guide.
Generally you'll want to only graduate once you've got the most out of enhancing your Tuvala gear ( a set of beginner friendly gear that helps new players catch up.) You'll also want to complete your Season Pass.
The Season pass gives a lot of rewards for tasks that new players will end up completing anyway, so it's good to at least complete this before moving on to graduation.
After completing this last objective you'll have 10 billion silver that will help you to gear up. If you're not sure what to get first, you can check out our gearing guide!
Challenge Changes After July 10th
The patch notes added some adjusted challenges for new players logging in for the first time after July 10th, here are the differences in the challenges.
| Before | After | ||
| Reach Lv. 61 | Play for 100 Hours (Family Playtime) | ||
| Graduate from Season (by completing the quest below): - [Leveling Aid] Fughar's Aid (can be accepted via the Black Spirit if you have the Graduation Cap, obtained after graduating the Season, in your inventory or Equipment window.) |
Complete the Igor Bartali's Adventures - Volume 15, October 5 page |
Playing for 100 hours is easy enough, you don't have to do anything in particular there but now the challenge requires you to complete Igor Bartali's Adventurers which is much more work.
The adventure log is something you'd need to do anyway as it gives a bunch of character stats, it's basically mandatory content. Here's our detailed, step-by-step guide to help you complete it:
